         InFocus projector is one of the technologies that use in our school as part of school facilities; everyone knows that InFocus projector is one of the famous products as digital projector. But the fact, InFocus itself is a trade mark of InFocus Corporation that was built in 1986. InFocus is American company located in Wilsonville, Oregon.

The use of projector is to display still pictures on the screen projection, there’s a lot of kind of still picture that can be displayed on the screen:

In our school this kind of technology use for students for many benefits, but commonly used Digital Projector in school like in the class, laboratories etc, . Here below we provide some information about sorts of digital projectors.

Varies kind of digital projectors

1.       Electronic Projector

a. Digital Projector

Digital projector is a new brand sort of projector technology in this modern era. It uses to converse data of pictures directly from the computer to the screen through lens system. Digital projector provides special capability to visualize data was actually being saved in the computer for prepared presentation. This kind of projector can possibly for viewers to watch moving picture from DVD, multifunction digital discus turner. Advertiser can also use digital projector to give product demonstration to a large of number customers.

Digital projector has an important role for home theatre forming system, its use SVGA standard resolution i.e. 800.600 pixels in hardware. What about the cost of digital projector, it’s quite expensive. Because the cost of digital projector itself is decided by how high the resolution and brightness is. If it use in a big hall or room, its must be set in 1,000 to 4,000 ANSI lumens. The first digital projector was Eidophor projector it was promoted to the public in 1950. Eidopher projector uses oiling surface on spinning disk with the light through it and running bundle electron to disturb oil in certain ways. Nowadays there some models of high quality digital projector that available in the market so that Eidopher projector uncommon anymore.

There are 4 kind of technology which is use in digital projector:

1. High intensity CRT

2. LCD projector uses light gate

3. Texas instruments DLP technology

4. Oiled-film Eidopher projector

Currently LCD projector commonly uses Texas instruments while CRT high intensity which matched for eternal installation. The whole works in digital projector light cathode tube like CRT television. The projector can be configured with RGB one color tube that have there different colors; red, green and blue in one lens. Projector itself is commonly designed with light cathode tube that’s why this is the best for constant digital projector.

LCD digital projector which is portable and light enough than CRT and can be removed to one place to the other place easily. It’s very popular and available in varies form and sizes. CRT and LCD digital projector came under transitive projector category. Reflective superior projectors that provide with high quality pictures are cheap and offer the next fun levels. Everyone can enjoy home theatre application with help from digital projector.

B. LCD Projector

Running according light adrift which is produced by LCD panel, the panel was made apart according to the main colors; red, green, and blue (R-G-B). So can get three LCD panels in a projector, the colors of the picture which is produced by projector is the result of adrift from the LCD panels that has been united by a special prism.

The pictures that have united then through the lens and dropping on the screen can be looked as an intact picture. The picture that is produced by LCD projector has good color depth because the color that is produced by LCD panel directly refractive lens to the screen. And the picture on LCD projector also more sharp than the picture from DLP projector.

C. CRT Projector

CRT or commonly said as Cathode Ray Tube which has use Old Projector picture tube that had used to conventional TV during some decades. With this kind of projector is used to send a picture to the screen. In CRT is used to project the main color, red, blur and green. The existing of the three tubes which is different in CRT projector make this kind of projector is big enough and heavy. Less recognize of flexibility to use in presentations in a small room. This kind of projector is work good enough to produce big contrast. Because the resulted picture of CRT projector cannot be scanned with electron bundle, it has no limit in certain approximate and offers bigger across pixel in screen resolution.

Wholly, CRT projector gives satisfaction with very high quality picture of film. Unlikely DLP and LCP projector model, CRT projector hasn’t light bulb which required replacement that will save customer’s outcome. The latest CRT model during 20,000 hours and so on, relatively long. There are also some weaknesses of this kind of projector. CRT model required dark spot for totally performance and also the cost is not cheap.

D. DLP projector

Digital Light Processing or DLP was the first projector was developed by Texas Instruments. In DLP, the light prior touches the color filter like wheel. Thence, the resulted color will touch Digital Micromirror Devices (DMD), and after that the light will be projected bouncily to the screen.
DMD is an optical chip that consists from three Micromirror layers each were apart by air cavity that possibly be sloped as -10 to +10 degrees. Although on some DLP sides, the better can obtain from LCD, DLP also have some weaknesses. The usage of colorwheel on DLP reduces value of projector brightness. DLP have a really good running way and quite different than LCD. One of the differences is DLP chip or DMD – Digital Micro Device. In DLP chip there’s half million mirrormicro which is made by aluminum and can turn the light movement till 5,000 times per second. Another differs also on how DLP filling color to the passing through light projector bulb. Mirrormicro on DLP chip hasn’t specific color on the picture. Then require color filter that spin out in certain rhythm and synchronize with mirrormicro movement. The unused light on the last picture will be turned out by Mirrormicro projector hi-end.

E. LCOS Projector

This kind of technology of digital projector was kind of the latest technology of digital projector that use two great technology that already exist before, namely LCD and DLP. LCOS technology is easier to be produced and lighter than LCD. And resolution is better than LCD. Even, the resolution of this technology counted can reach OXGA, which is 2048×1536 pixel; it’s very high even it’s the highest. And also can reduce artifact that appear on LCD.

LCOS has analog control like LCD with better color gradation than DLP. Contrast Ration of this kind of technology is better than LCD although cannot be compared with DLP which is better than LCOS. But, the brightness value can be compared with LCD; it does mean it’s better than DLP.
